irish countryside on 120mm film

WHEN: August 2023

WHERE: Ireland

CAMERA: Bronica + Anscoflex ll

A few months ago, a friend and I headed to the Irish countryside for a small photography experiment. Joshie packed his beautiful 120mm Bronica, and I brought along an Anscoflex II that I had purchased for $10 at a random antique store during one of my trips to the United States.

We were both using Lomography ISO 400 film, and it was a delightful surprise to receive the Anscoflex film back and discover that my cheap camera actually camera worked. Although the photos didn’t turn out perfectly, it was still a fun experience shooting with medium format and I am super excited to do it again and again.

For obvious reasons, the photos taken by Josh with the Bronica turned out the best – we’re talking about a $10 camera versus a $500 camera, and it definitely shows!

Hope you enjoy getting a glimpse of my first attempt at shooting in 120mm film. Please don’t mind the fact that all our portraits feature us taking photos of each other taking photos – that’s just what happens when photography lovers come together.

Love,

Emi
